HOWND is committed to caring for our environment and those who inhabit it, which is why as a company we make sure:
All our products are 100% vegan, and cruelty-free with all ingredients being derived from ethical sources.
We make an effort to source as many of our raw ingredients locally in order to reduce our carbon footprint while supporting local manufacturers.
All of our packaging is recyclable, including our Superfood bags.
Cruelty Free International
A global programme, Leaping Bunny requires cruelty free standards over and above legal requirements. All of our pet care products are approved under the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny programme, the internationally recognisable gold standard for cruelty free products. We adhere to a fixed cut-off date policy and proactively monitor our suppliers to ensure that our products continue to adhere to the Leaping Bunny criteria. Our supplier monitoring system is also independently audited.
The Vegetarian (Vegan) Society
The Vegetarian (Vegan) Society is dedicated to everything vegetarian and vegan and we are honoured to be members and feature on its pages. It takes significantly less water to produce plant protein than meat. An 8 oz chicken breast takes over 542 litres of water to produce. Enough to fill your bathtub 6.5 times! So we are immensely proud to carry the Vegetarian (Vegan) Society logo on all our pet care and food packaging, and contribute to the clean pet food revolution!
PETA
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is the largest animal rights organisation in the world. They work through educating the public on a range of topics such as speciesism, which means treating varying species of animals differently and expose companies with unethical practices. They support animal rescue, and aim to improve legislation related to animal cruelty. Our entire pet care range is approved by PETA Cruelty Free.

If you are a dog parent, you'll want to know that the food you are feeding them is created lovingly with no animals harmed in the process. All of our Superfood and treats were taste tested on dog companions in the comfort of their home and our recipes contain no meat or dairy. Our entire Superfood and Treats range is approved by PETA Not Tested on Animals.
The Ethical Company Organisation
The founding of The Ethical Company Organisation in 2002 was key to the substantial growth in the ethical shopping movement and wider standards of corporate social responsibility. All HOWND products meet the standards of the organisation and we are proud to carry the Ethical Company logo on all our packaging.
Naturewatch Foundation
Naturewatch Foundation is a UK registered charity that works tirelessly to improve the lives of animals. Its mission is to end animal cruelty and advance animal welfare standards around the world. We have featured as a selected Cruelty Free brand in the charity’s Compassionate Shopping Guide for many years.
