On Friday 22nd June 2018, businesses from across the UK will take part in the fifth annual Bring Your Dog To Work Day. Employers across the nation will welcome their dog loving employees into the workplace along with their loyal (and well-behaved!) four-legged companions to raise money for charity.
What is it?
Bring Your Dog To Work Day is an annual event created and organised by the team here at HOWND. Over the past four years, it’s grown into a hugely popular day in the working calendar, with thousands of people, businesses and celebrities taking part.

Want to take part in 2018? If you own or run a business, you can participate by making an online donation on our official website to become a business sponsor. In return for a minimum donation of £50, your company’s logo and website link will be displayed on our website homepage. All the money raised will be split between our chosen charities, which will be confirmed shortly. Alternatively, you can raise your own funds for a charitable cause of your choice, using Bring Your Dog To Work Day as a sponsored workplace event for your employees. For a minimum online donation of £2, a picture of your dog can be published on our website’s ‘Dog with a Job Hall of Fame’. If you donate £5 online, you will automatically be entered into 2018’s prize draw to win £100s worth of goodies from our sponsors.

To celebrate 2017’s event, HOWND released Bring Your Dog To Work Day’s first official movie. The film features a selection of dogs performing different jobs (safely!) – such as unloading a washing machine and doing pilates! The piece – which was put together by award-winning video collaboration tool Seenit – was designed to encourage dog lovers across the UK to donate and get involved in Britain’s favourite day at the office.

Britain’s most memorable day at the office took the national press and social media by storm in 2016. Despite the EU referendum result dominating the news cycle, the official #BringYourDogToWorkDay hashtag trended on Twitter – reaching over 13 million people in little over an hour. It was a similar story on Instagram, with the hashtag being mentioned over 18,000 times alongside images of dogs at work. The day also gained significant coverage in the press, including The Guardian, The Telegraph, Metro, Waitrose Weekend and Fast Company. As a result, HOWND were Silver Award winners in the ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year’ category at the PetQuip Awards 2016.
